MULTI-USE DEVELOPMENT

Fruitport Golf Development

Cherette Group assembled approximately 135 acres along the Harvey Street corridor in Fruitport Township, transforming the former Fruitport Golf Course into a coordinated mixed-use development that has become a major growth driver for the region.

The initial 115-acre assemblage was completed and fully planned in under five years, establishing a clear long-term vision for how the corridor could evolve. That vision expanded in 2023 with the acquisition of an additional 20 acres and three more commercial outlots, building on the original frontage surrounding Harmony Lake.

Shaping the Future
of Harvey Street

Harmony Lake Apartment Homes marked the first phase of development, setting the standard for quality and design. Since then, the corridor has continued to build momentum with the addition of a new Costco, a significant regional anchor that has dramatically increased traffic and activity in the area, along with Deer Creek Meadows, a 188-home single-family community, and The Summit at Harvey Townhomes, a 92-unit townhome development currently under construction.

Six commercial outlots line Harvey Street, including one sold to Genesis Church, which has since tripled its attendance, and another that will serve as the future home of Cherette Group’s corporate offices. The remaining outlots are positioned for additional commercial and service-oriented uses that complement the surrounding development.

With more than 2,500 feet of frontage, convenient access to US-31 and I-96, and proximity to major retail and healthcare anchors, the project reflects a coordinated approach to long-term land use and development, positioning the corridor as one of the most active growth areas in Muskegon County.
