As founder of Cherette Group and its affiliated companies, Denny has developed, managed, owned, and advised on more than $1 billion in real estate throughout his five-decade career.
His experience spans nearly every major sector of the industry. Denny has developed thousands of multifamily residences and award-winning communities throughout West Michigan and South-Central Arizona. His extensive healthcare work includes strategic site planning, medical office buildings, large-scale ambulatory care facilities, and hospital renovations. In the banking sector, Denny co-founded a publicly traded bank and has served as a developer, owner, or consultant on more than 100 bank facilities.
His portfolio also includes industrial facilities, condominiums, retail centers, office developments, and other complex commercial projects. As a consultant, Denny has advised some of the world’s largest corporations on strategic real estate decisions including acquisitions, dispositions, construction oversight, value engineering, and project execution, with projects spanning the United States and Central America.
Beyond real estate, Denny has been a longtime West Michigan business and community leader, serving on numerous public and private company boards, in governmental leadership roles, and with nonprofit and community organizations. His decades-long commitment to his industry, partners, team, and community has become a defining part of his legacy.
